A Flock of Seagulls

It's time once again for the minds behind Misery Loves Company to take a short hiatus from all things rat race and retreat to the sandy shores of Nags Head, NC. Again, yes. What can we say? We've got a quirky love of leisurely lounging about on the beach with a cooler of suds, some really smooth music, and nothing resembling a schedule.

In case you can't quite conjure the scene of Rob and me vacationing together, it looks a little something like this:

. . . but without all of our fans around.

The Mets have signed international free agent Marinus Vernooij, an 18-year-old third baseman from Holland. Vernooij played third base for the Dutch 1st division Door Tridents last year.

Boy, the boondoggles to Amsterdam are getting more thinly veiled every year, aren't they?

Oh, your fans will be around, but in this case it will be a gaggle of little girls.

Surprise... I do like to check you guys out every now and then. :)

Whit, here's hoping you were on the road to the beach and caught none of that fiasco last night.
