Let the record show that Julio Lugo opened the 2007 Red Sox season by taking a ball low from Kansas City's Gil Meche. Let the record further note that it's 80 degrees and sunny here in the Nation's Capital and all is very, very well in the world, other than the fact that I'm inside an office while I type those words. Finally, while we're noting things for posterity, let it be publicly declared that ESPN's Gamecast has way too much going on for these aging eyes to adequately assimilate - I just now realized that Lugo struck out and Kevin Youkilis singled, even though those things happened 3 or 4 minutes ago.
Oh, and David Ortiz just doubled in Youkilis. Glad to have you back, pastime.
