Game 104 - Red Sox
Dogs and Cats, Living in Sin

Red Sox 6, Devil Rays 3
Record: 57-47

In an effort to increase my post count to appease Whitney's sensitive soul, this short (insert height joke here) entry celebrates the following relatively unsung heroes:

- Dave McCarty, whose three-run bomb gave the Sox a 3-2 lead in the second inning
- Kevin Youkilis, who ripped a clutch 2-run double in the 5th, played great defense at 3rd, and continues to do nothing but perform every time he's on the field
- Orlando Cabrera, who's hitting like shit, but made a couple of silly defensive plays - guess that's why we got him (that said, if he continues to bat in the 3 or 5 holes, I may hunt Terry Francona down myself)

And last, but definitely not least, Johnny Damon is quietly putting up seriously good numbers. To date, I've spent most of my words on Johnny focusing on his haircut, but he's arguably been the best leadoff hitter in the American League. He's putting up an .850+ OPS out of the top spot in the Sox order, with 13 homers and 80 runs. He's been consistently good all season long, a beacon of light in a sea of chaos. He's batting in the 3 spot tonight with Dave Roberts getting his first start with the Sox and David Ortiz taking a league-mandated vacation. Apparently, throwing bats at umpires is frowned upon.
