Money For Nothin'

OK Whitney, I ordered the Extra Innings without the luxury of knowing exactly how many occasions my family room will vibrate to the baritone voice of the greatest living play by play announcer not named Vin Scully (sorry Jon Miller, your cool but you talk to damn much.)

However, having just checked the Extra Innings schedule which I customized to list all Phillies games, I notice that I get no Harry at least for the first week of the season. (The useless tool lists each game after 4/6 as 'TBA' even though you can search for 14 days out.) Its seems I will be subjected to the Nats and Reds broadcast feeds. How lucky!

I want my, I want my, I want my Harry TV! Think I just Tivo some Chunky Soup commercials to satisfy my fix until then.

I am aware that I substituted 'your' for 'you're' and that I typed 'Its seems" rather than 'It seems.' Still trying to figure out what the hell I am doing. Sorry.

I was gonna say that you might have a shot on Thursday, since it looks like there are 2 feeds for the game, but I think in the DC area (and down here, too), the out of town feeds are blacked out when you play the Nats.

Very excited about the prospect of them expanding the coverage to include multiple feeds of the same game. Hope you don't get shafted like this for long.

Oh, and you can edit posts if you like. It's not that hard to figure out, but if you have trouble, let us know.

Bad news for you. The Philly station doesn't play nice with the MLB TV powers that be. There have been few, if any, hometown Philly broadcasts on the package.

Yeah, Nick got burned bu Extra Innings when he first did it a few years back. But last year I heard a chunk of Harry Kalas telecasts last year, especially late. Something may have changed.

I am not sure what is involved. I think it has something to do with Comcast vs. DirecTV. The evil Comcast originated in Philly and have had the cable rights to the Phils for a long, long time. They were never a part of the Extra Innings package from the get go. Then Comcast bought out many of the local sports cable companies such as HTS here in DC but I believe they inherited the existing contracts with EI.

Oh well, Harry's dulcid tones would have soothed me during last night 5 run ninth by the Nats but not much.
